About PFTS

A nonprofit, riding-powered trail engine in the NC Piedmont.

Education, promotion, and enrichment of sustainable mountain biking — and the communities they serve. 501(c)(3) since the 90s.

Our vision

Via an organized, deeply inclusive effort — a positive attitude toward mountain biking in the Triad and beyond.

Our vision includes maintaining the existing trails, developing new ones, and offering educational and social programs that help build a strong sense of community — one that reaches the Triad and well past it.

We are committed to creating an environment that is diverse, inclusive, and equitable, where all members are treated with respect and dignity. For the purposes of this statement, diversity refers to race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual identity, familial status, age, disability, and socio-economic status.

Our values

Eight things we mean.

  • Stewardship

We build it, then we keep it rolling.

  • Partnerships

Land managers, SORBA, IMBA, shops, and you.

  • Education

Skills clinics, kid programs, ride leaders.

  • Inclusiveness

Every rider, every level, every bike.

  • Community

    Group rides, socials, workdays, races.

  • Wellness

    Trails are good medicine.

  • Sustainability

Build it sustainable or don't build it.

  • Integrity

We do the right thing in the woods.

Dirt under the fingernails

Every trail mile has a work crew behind it.

SORBA

About SORBA

A community of riders, builders, and stewards across the Southeast.

SORBA (Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association) is the regional voice for sustainable mountain biking. PFTS is a SORBA chapter, IMBA-affiliated, and built on those same values — riding, building, advocating, together.
